(810) 772-4573 Using Acosta

Update. He went by Brian, but once he asked me if I had a lot of experience with military men the flag went up, he's blocked and unmatched from on OKC. Used the name Brian, but he shouldn't post a military photo with "his" name on the uniform, this is after I told him I have actually dated military men and any sniff of fake he'd be dropped. Here's a bit of the conversation.

+1 (210) 948-3459:
A friend of mine introduced me to see if I could meet the right woman of my dreams
Well I don’t prefer a single life cause it’s so boring for me to be single
I am currently on a deployment in Syria now for a mission to keep peace
I am a single father of a son
Me:
It's early in Syria. [me thinking hmmm you have time to text at 4 am while on deployment??? I don't think so]

+1 (210) 948-3459:
Yep

Me:
Who watches your kiddo? Or is he grown?

+1 (210) 948-3459:
A friend and he is just 4

Me:
That must be hard.

+1 (210) 948-3459:
Yes

+1 (210) 948-3459:
That’s why I need a partner to love me for me a partner I can lean on and trust my son and everything with

[ahhhhh no, goodbye.]

First off, a quick message for those who have been scammed. Don't be too hard on yourself. Scammers succeed even against intelligent people. They exploit human vulnerabilities.

No, I did not get scammed by this guy posing as Acosta. But I was approached by him (oh yes, they're on the gay dating sites too. They will target any man or woman for money). Fortunately I realized quickly it was the setup for a scam, and I ghosted him (or her, who really knows?).

However, I wasn't always so adept at recognizing scams. There is a learning curve, and a certain destruction of innocence you must undergo. You need to learn to be a skeptic. You will learn some scams are well done, and some are obvious. (UN)fortunately there is an abundance of scammers, so you will all gain experiences sooner or later and will become better skeptics with time.

Shortly after coming out, I joined some dating websites (this was over 10 years ago now, and apps weren't quite there yet. New platform, same mess.). Almost immediately, I was pulled into a very sweet correspondence with an achingly beautiful man. I loved the attention he gave me. I dismissed it when small inconsistencies cropped up in his story. I rationalized how things might be true. Eventually the inevitable happened. He asked for money (Western Union, of course). It was so he could purchase a plane ticket to visit me (of course). This should sound very familiar to everyone on this thread.

Good news is, I didn't send him anything! I have never sent any of them any money. This is an iron-clad rule you must set for yourself! NEVER SEND THEM ANYTHING OF VALUE!

It hurt. I was forced to see the illusion for what it was. It was a painful learning experience. But I'm a stronger person for making the right decision, and being skeptical is an important life skill.

I could have maintained the illusion longer if I had sent the money, but I would have only delayed the inevitable. The money would have been gone. He might not have been - he might have stuck around with some excuse as to why the money was gone but he never appeared. And then he would have tried for more money.

Bottom line, the MOMENT you see them steering the conversation towards you sending them something of value (wire money, gift card, etc.), you have to walk away from them. Don't bother confronting them. Don't let them spin a new illusion for you. The illusion can feel addicting. We all want to be liked by someone we find attractive. You need to break free from this illusion! It will hurt, but you will be stronger and thank yourself for the tough decision later.

Matched on plenty of fish. Going under the name mike. Stationed in Israel with a Nigerian phone number. WhatsApp number +234 816 683 6426. Also under this number. +1 (620) 440-6182 Cheated out of an $850K house his supposed ex girlfriend and real estate agent bought. Said the house was in Buffalo NY and Zillow shows it’s in NJ. No where near the NY line. Blocked him when I found out he was a liar. Also had his friend “Chris” contact me from +234 816 209 9677 to ask me to unblock him because “mike” was crying. Totally fake. Don’t fall for this.

Is on a dating app called WooPlus. Going by Matthew. Says Alicea is his first name and Mathew is the middle. Army nurse stationed in AZ. Said he has a disabled mother in Fresno and would be there on Dec 14 or 15th. He moved the chat to Hangouts using the email aliceamathew164@gmail.com. I confronted him and he blocked me on hangouts. He said he couldn't give me his number because of being in the army and that the base was not taking external calls. A few other weird messages and i knew it had to be fake. Never asked for money or anything like that. Gave me the number 954-652-6627 but told me not to call until he told me to since he wasnt even suppose to be giving his number out.

He recently contacted me saying that his name is David Francis Acosta... a military nurse and that he lost his parents in a car accident years ago and he only has an uncle and his grandma is in Germany. I started looking for him in all media and nothing but I google his pictures and I saw the instagram profile and facebook, he was asking me for a giftcard for his birthday but I said no

He sent me a friend request on Facebook I accepted
Told me his wife has past away and he has a son
He beg me to accept him before he got deployed to west africa
He asked me for iTunes cards of 250. I rejected them he asked me to pay for his home.
Coming to me and that we would get married and raised his son the amount of 600.00
Thanks to some friends they found all his facebooks accounts
I recently made some studies and his wife is alive her name is iris Diaz Acosta alicea
Supposesively his in west Africa but he recently posted a picture at his home
Stating it was hi turn to cook warring a bandana so hairs fall in

On his page he only has a picture of a scamhater. And he introduced me to Acosta. He told me he also has an account on Kik. Someone please help me cause I dont know what to do

    3. It has been a while now since Acosta was actually in the Army. Nobody on Hangouts is real... scammers paradise.. and Kik is the same when you are contacted. Contacted on IG... by a stranger... given someone on Hangouts you have never met and is all over the internet as being the victim of identity theft so his pictures can be used to scam people?
We are trying to help... but we can't it you can't see the evidence in front of you.
HE ISN'T EVEN IN THE ARMY NOW !! and that is so easy to find out !

He's asking for gift cards and money to buy gift card and also saying he cant access his bank account while on deployment. I asked for an email but he did not provide it. His story was his dad died on a car accident and his mom died last year. He cant video call 'cause it's against the camp rule and will send you love quotes googled somewhere... He claimed to be God fearing man and he would also send bible verses - the nerve! He has bad grammar as well. Be careful ladies!

ANYONE that claims to be Military is never real.
They do not do it. Real men do NOT go looking on social media to contact women.
Every time someone says they are military, it is a scammer from
      West Africa with love words.
NEVER AGREE TO GO TO HANGOUTS,WHATSAPP OR ANY OTHER CHAT APP.

I discovered his fake identity three days ago with reverse photos and because things do not agree in his speak. Now, i do not if i must just block him or make a complain to the authorities of my country. I saw that he added girls from my instagram friends. I do not want this to happen to other girls. I made the mistake of sending him intimate photos and I know he would extort me with them. We are still talking as if nothing and I do not know what to do. Please help me, I'm from the Dominican Republic.

  4. Quick recap on this as I've researched extenstively for a friend getting scammed. Cirio Arman is a model - becoming very successful. That is his professional name, real (last name) is Acosta-Alicia. He was actually in the US Army and is now a reservist. Continuing his modeling career. He will actually be in Florida 9/14 for a model show as he is shown on the model company ad. Scammer has highjacked all his photos and set up a very realistic looking fb account under Michael Acosta. He is asking for money (of course)sent by Western Union (of course). Has a sob story about being stationed overseas and needs money lol

  5. Just wanted to update this - he has made a new fb profile using the name Michael Acosta. I researched for a friend of mine who almost sent him money. The pics on all his face fb profiles are of an actual model named Cirio Arman. He was in the military, thus the military pics. Cirio is his "stage/career" name. Actual last name is Acosta-Alicia so that's why his uniform shows that name. He wants money of course because he's hungry of course and wants money sent Western Union. He's resorted to threats when she told him she couldn't send money.

  7. An update in case someone is searching for "Acosta" (yes, he is still using this name on email, whatsapp, and instagram)... if you call him out on his scamming, block his fb or any such thing, he will contact you as a "friend that's just letting you know how bad Acosta is hurting and really wants you to contact him". The "friend" is Dave Black / Rick Black - can search this site for pics of this fake profile also. So, in other words, Michael Acosta, Dave Black, Rick Black are all apparently the same scammer.

I have showed her this site and other info & she has agreed to stop sending money, but she's still communicating with him. I am only providing this info in hopes that someone searching for his name (Acosta) here on this site will be aware that "Acota" will try to make contact thru another venue..another fake profile of a "friend".
The more info that's out there, the better ESPECIALLY if a pattern of

  9. He’s also going by Mark Acosta, same guy in these pics but none of the pics I’ve seen on here before except one I believe. He started chatting with me on a dating app, can’t remember exactly what it was called but was like a “men in uniform” app or something ha! and the only reason I responded was because he was dressed in scrubs which is also what I wear to work. Happened a few months ago, never asked for a penny, nothing like that, but there were so many red flags, like his grammar, and saying exactly where he is “stationed” at in Afghanistan, I know they would never give their location or even have all of this time to talk to strangers, the sob stories, and look at this guy...he’s gorgeous! I was dumb and gullible and going through a rough time and he pounced on that and I read somewhere, maybe here that they go after older woman but that’s not always the case. If you respond they’ll try anything. Anyways the WhatsApp number he used was 702-381-1190 and after I called him out on everything, his “friend” in the military contacted me with a similar sob story another person said on here mentioned and I believe he went by “Arlington” or something and that WhatsApp number was 703-214-5573 which now months later both continue to try to contact me except his friend is now an Asian girl on the profile pic! And is trying to make it a business to file or something in the last few weeks....? They will both try to video chat and voice chat with you after you call them out on their lies and scams. I feel for this guy that keeps getting his pictures stolen or used by these disgusting excuses of human beings. Some of the pics were pretty revealing too that he sent me so that’s what’s worse for the real guy these pics belong too. I don’t know if there’s a way I can send pics to you guys so you have even more to add to the collection but he sent me maybe 30 pics, a few videos, and only one of the pics are one that I’ve seen on here. Lmk if they’d be helpful at all and thank you for what you do. Ladies....please don’t ever send these strangers any money, or compromising pics of yourself, which I’m kinda guilty of and feel so dumb and used even though he never wanted money, my body means just as much and is not something I would just share with God knows who is on the other end of this crap...but I did for some reason. Google and research everyone. Red flags or not. Couldn’t hurt right if it ends up being who you’re actually speaking to? Thanks again for your website and good luck to everyone!

I’m not comfortable using my full name or google account because he does have pictures and info about me that makes me nervous. So if you need more info or anything I’ll look out for a reply and you can call me Mer.

I started looking for him in all media and nothing but I google his pictures and I saw the instagram profile and facebook, he was asking me for a giftcard for his birthday but I said no

  20. He´s not only scamming women, but gay guys as well, I met him on a date site called "Growlr" but then he told me to move to Hangouts-which I never used before-. We have been talking for 2 weeks, though I was wondering how he could fall in love so easily without knowing me. Thanks God Im very suspicious. But I was really confused because his English was flawless...VERY American! He was from Texas, allegedly...BUt last night he asked me to buy him an Itunes Gift Card...and right there I realized that the "pieces didn´t match". How does it come that a soldier on a mission, (He was in Togo, allegedly) who has EVERYTHING PAID FOR, even the shampoo, ask me to buy him an Itunes Card?

I began to investigate and I ran into this site. He is the smae guy that in your pics. I already blocked him, eliminated my Hangouts account and reported his profile on Growlr as a scam. My only concern is that I sent him a couple of non-sanctly pics of me...I hope it does not get worse...Anyway, congrats for your blog...

I wouldn't worry about the pics but BLOCK and never talk to him .. any attention he will keep at you.. block and they will move on. 29. Hey everyone. So I am an avid Catfish TV show lover. I was contacted by someone named "Chris/Chuck" on Plenty of Fish. He stated that he was stationed in the state that I live in and that he would be deployed soon. He gave me every excuse not to FaceTime me because he needs permission from his commanding officer to make phone call on his iPhone that he said he was texting me from (on POF). I called him out that he may be a catfish and of course he tried to convince me otherwise. He stated the other reason why he cant FaceTime is because he is in Special Ops and he is not allowed to show his identity. I replied with "So you cant expose your identity but you can post your picture and name on Plenty of Fish." He hasnt responded and we pretty much texted non-stop all day about FaceTiming until I sent him that. I guess he couldnt come up with an excuse that can explain why he has his identity expose on Plenty of Fish lol. I guess he had to log off to think of which lie he is going to come up with. Heres the link to his profile but I think you need an account to see more information on his page. https://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=65415262

    I hope I helped someone!

And ladys if u ever have a guy claiming to be in the military and they say they are going on deployment ask them for their military email mail at the end of it if they dont give it to you they are fake another way as well is ask for their Aop address if they dont they are fake Cannot access his bank account. Military members can access their money from overseas. They pay bills online, buy items from websites and even arrange for car loans. If they ask you for money -- even a loan, this is a scam.i have several family members in the military army, air force, navy, marines, national guard and if they are truly in special ops special forces it is a lie because if they were they wouldnt tell you because they would get in trouble for that an these people are good at photo shoping photos so I cant stress this anuff please do not believe the photos

Found him on WooPlus a dating site. Started off by telling me he needed money to pay for his cell phone bill, then claiming it was his birthday, then told me his mom is paralyzed and she recently fell and needed surgery. I gave the money and when I asked for it back he kept claiming that I had to wait till December. The month is approaching and says in order to come home he needed more money. I refused. I found this page yesterday and exposed him and he still denied it. Told me if I wanted my money back that I had to give him 2k. He then harassed me and told me if I didn’t he would mail out my photos. Few are nudes and I feel so ashamed and afraid.

I poured my heart out to him about my previous relationship which was horrible. He said that he would never treat me like that and that we would build a beautiful life together. I even told my family and showed them his pictures. My parents were so happy for me but somewhere in the back of my mind I had a strange feeling so I googled US Army Acosta and I found this site. I was heartbroken and confronted him about it and asked him how he could do this to me after everything that I had shared with him. I am still heartbroken because I thought that a man like him could possibly fall in love with a man like myself with all the hardships that I had suffered in my previous relationship. 😪

I got scammed, he’s going by Andy James Anderson. Said he’s at Fort Hamilton and his wife was killed in Iraq, that he’s a single dad, no parents. The number he is using is 252.381.0665. I feel so stupid, I should have trusted my instincts. I knew the way he spoke didn’t sound like English was his first language. That hurt- I hope the next woman doesn’t fall for it. We matched on JSwipe, should I report it to them?
