Ray Smith is a fake account scamming using the oil rig scam. 1-619-746-7572 Likes Whatsapp and Hangouts!

Good afternoon,

I was contacted by someone through my Instagram account a week ago and, foolishly, after looking at the photos of a man with his daughter, I clicked to follow. Bad mistake...
The usual...he asked if we could go onto WhatsApp or Hangouts instead, I refused because I don't use either of those things. He then asked if we could text and, again, not using my head, I agreed. Then it started.
Here's the scenario: His name is Ray Smith, a single parent with a daughter named Tracy. He was born in Norway, but now lives in Dallas, Texas and is on contract with Exxon Mobil on an oil rig off the coast of California. His daughter is cared for by her nanny, Mary. He is missing daughter terribly and was always in touch through WhatsApp or Hangouts. Unfortunately, she has run out of minutes on the phone cards she has and now he cannot contact her. Every suggestion I offered to him for updating things remotely, using his credit card, was shot down. Only phone at home was a landline on a system he kept from Norway. He lost his briefcase, with all his documents, at sea. I found that laughable and said so.
He was not impressed. Guess I hurt his feelings. I realized what was coming and told him that I knew he was a scammer and that he definitely would not be getting any money from me. I also questioned him about his last name, since it did not sound Norwegian.
He said his Mom was from Arizona and his Dad was Norwegian. That was my point. If Dad was Norwegian, he would have a Norwegian last name. He insisted he was being truthful and how could I even say such evil things about him. He would have to stop communicating with me. I was fine with that. Needless to say, he continued to text me.
I blocked his texts and phone calls, since I knew that he was a scammer. He tried calling 6 times one day and sent a couple of texts, all of which were blocked. He will clue in soon...
He has since removed his account from Instagram, but is probably there under a new name, with a new picture.
The telephone number he gave me is 1-619-746-7572. I did some searching and this is a Chula Vista, California telephone number.
(IT IS ACTUALLY A VIRTUAL NUMBER, AN ONLINE NUMER FROM TEXTNOW )
I searched for the picture he sent me, but had no luck. So I dug deeper into Scammer websites and found a picture of the same man using another name, Alan Campbell.
I hope by sending you the photos and giving you an idea of his techniques, you could warn others.
