I had been communicating with a man from Tic Tok name used Merrick Barton.
He got me to switch to app Telegram texting and google chat. He called me quickly to profess his love. I fell hard for his story needing to get home to his son and start a life with me. I didn’t know about these type of scams.
I sent him 700 to reach a friend to help him get vacation leave. I’m just coming across the pictures and true stories of Joshua M Young. I sobbed when I discovered the man I fell in love with was a scammer and worse that he had used Joshua’s pictures to manipulate me.
I’m so overwhelmed with grief that Joshua took his own life from PTSD, in which the scammers are now using that piece of information in their dialogue. To Joshua, your true story and the man of true honor , I will love you and pray for your family. I’m so ashamed I fell for their lies … may you RIP beware of Merrick Barton new alias'
Came across your blog after being contacted by "Nicholas Ryan" on Instagram. He goes by the handle "george_nicholas1" and chats on Google using the email nicholasryan401@gmail.com
I'm so sickened by this whole thing! Although the scammer has a photo of me, I'm glad I have an inquisitive mind and after a week finally found information to support the suspicion. The person has gotten sloppy as they insist their last name is Ryan even after sending a photo of the real man in uniform with his last name clearly on the uniform. DISGUSTING!
Hi, I was contacted about a month ago by this guy called Marcus Albert who is using Joshua Hopkins’s photos.
He liked me on Plenty of Fish. Gave me a sob story that included his wife dying of cancer, leaving him with his daughter and older mother. Said he lived in Australia but has an American accent. His daughter and mother live in WA but he lives in Qld which doesn’t make sense to me.
Said he was in London for work then travelled to Istanbul for a shipping retrieval but got into financial issues and needed $26000.

I knew he was a fake when he asked what I was working on at work and I told him I had to write a bunch of articles, send out press releases and design a flyer. He asked if he could help? LOL!!!! What guys asks if he can help someone with their workload?!?! He says he grew up in Denmark and that he's an agriculutral engineer and his dad owns the company.

ReplyDeleteThe real Joshua M. Young took his own life on November 15, 2019 as stated on his families Facebook page. I feel so sad that the guy whose photos were stolen felt he had took take his life because of what the scammers have done to him.

He's from Detroit Michigan who has 2 boys and divorced. Wife cheated on him and is doing drugs. He did a short video call twice and calls me almost everyday using Hangout. Also has an Instagram account under Lucas Young.

I know the story about the real Joshua Matthew Young, and it makes me feel sad because they are not letting him to rest in peace. I went to the Police today, but they couldn't help me, they said to report the page and block that person. Please do everything you can to stop this guy and remove the fake account.

I also contacted plenty of fish BC his profile came back on so I sent him a message saying wow back from the dead I see..he didn't respond but I made it clear to the dating site that they need to warn girls about him. Starts pretty standard like favourite colour, movies, then goes into a story which could be believable. He would chat with me, always saying good morning, standard how was your day...did you sleep well..make sure you take time to eat...says he is single by choice. And from Toronto. Said he had a 4 years old son who lives with his ex wife and she broke his heart. Says he was born in Toronto but needed a break and got dual citizenship then joined the US Army...then said he plans on coming back to Toronto to set down roots to be close to his son...with Covid he would have to find a place then quarentine for 2 weeks, so when he was done we could meet up and go on a date. I have spoke to many men and they all have stories. Asked of it was snowing here...then says he would really love to take this further and couldn't wait to meet me. It just so happened that I came across an article stating that people were pretending to be military so I sent it to him he said I have trust issues and this whole on line dating was scary BC you never know. Then after he says I don't want you to think your assumptions are true but in order for me to keep talking to you I have to figure out how to access my bank account. He never asked for money BC I said I was unemployed. (Which I am not) he aid he will figure it out but if he disappears online that is why but will contact me when he gets back to Canada. ...then a day later says he can't access and if I could somehow send him money he would pay me back...I called him out he got upset said he was the real Simon Jordan. That he didn't die and is tired of his pictures being used by scammers...I just said look me up when u get back to Canada if you are real then I found Joshua's obituary and sent it to him. He is blocked. I never fell for his lies yes I communicate d with him but goes to show you how you can be lied to especially on a dating site but I have had men tell me similar stories and they were real. Like being stuck in the US because of Covid and travel ban. Makes you question men's intentions now and be extra skeptical but at the same time possiblity missing out on that guy who is real and genuine. So the real Joshua Young died? Iv just met This guy was on plenty of fish with the username soulmate4131(Jimmy) he told me his name was Jimmy an asked me if I had WhatsApp so we spoke though WhatsApp an pretty instantly asked if I’d delete my pof acc because he didn’t want me talking to others (odd) so we began talking through WhatsApp told me he was Jimmy, 39 single, no kids, he’s in the US army deployed in Iran but retiring after 20 years service in 2 weeks, said he was retiring to move to Britain to live with his mum which happened to be the same city I live (coincidence maybe) said he was half British half American, his fiancé had run off with her high school lover while he was deployed an that her an her new partner have a kid and are now on drugs, very quickly told me he loved me, started sending me poems asked if I was on social media as he was banned because someone had stolen his pics an was impersonating him, I thought oh ok it happens people do steal peoples pics an make fake accounts, then he asked if I’d be able to pick him up from Manchester airport which I thought odd because I’d have thought if you were just retiring from the army after 20 years you’d want your mum an family at the airport waiting I know I would, some things just didn’t add up for me, he never asked for money (yet) he just mentioned we’d be ok on his army hardship payment an pension an that his dad had left him a large inheritance, some of his sentences were just off even for American English so I decided to google image search an well Iv found all this so now I’m sat here like what’s real what’s not real OMG I haven’t spoken to him about what I’ve found and he’s ment to be coming to live in the same city next week I’ll just tell him to hmu when he gets here I’m very much doubting he will

I feel so guilty and ashamed. I am sincerely sorry for her memory and her families and all the women like me who have been fooled. Just chatted with "Mark" Young a couple of weeks ago. Met him on FB Dating. He was a little too eager, but I rolled with it. In a week he was in love with me and was asking me for money. Pretty much same story as all the above ones with slight variations. I called this fool out, blocked, and reported him on Whatsapp. I started looking into the pictures sent to me and came across the real Josh's story and it has just completely broken my heart. This person/people are absolutely despicable. Much love to Josh's family and friends ♡

I'm speaking with a young man now who says he's Joshua young. Said he faked his death. Needs 6,000.00 to get a name change. I don't believe it. So sorry about the real Joshua. People need to quit using his pictures.

My God I am so so sorry. I’ve been communicating with someone claiming to be him for six months. Unfortunately I did what I shouldn’t have done. I had searched for David Landon Young, whom this person said they were, and didn’t find what I found today. I wish I would have, for a few reasons. Thank you very much for confirming this, it breaks my heart to have been scammed and breaks my heart even more that it was because they used this poor mans photos. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. Wish I could teach those scumbags a lesson. 🙏🏻

На 2 день стал признаваться в любви, что конечно заставило сомневаться. Загрузила фото на проверку, тут стало всё понятно!!! Очень жаль настоящего джошуа!!! Была в шоке! Царствие небесное ��. Нашла ещё страницу в вк https://vk.com/id678605617, жалобу подавала, модераторы пока не реагируют! В инсте вроде удалили!!!

ReplyDeleteHe liked me on Plenty of Fish. Gave me a sob story that included his wife dying of cancer, leaving him with his daughter and older mother. Said he lived in Australia but has an American accent. His daughter and mother live in WA but he lives in Qld which doesn’t make sense to me.
Said he was in London for work then travelled to Istanbul for a shipping retrieval but got into financial issues and needed $26000.

Or as I did, then tried video calling me loads and loads never replying to it said u was busy, , then cheeky sod asked me for a money card, I said your joking Right, yes the pictures was Hot again too good to be true, never would of fell for it, but what he was saying picked me up, my child said he was a catfish haha I looked him up and this. The person has gotten sloppy as they insist their last name is Ryan even after sending a photo of the real man in uniform with his last name clearly on the uniform. DISGUSTING!

I use instagram a lot and I had this person want to follow me with Joshua m Young photos. The profile name is Andre_67pacheco I was talking to this person for five months. He got me to use google chat and used a different profile name. Said he was in Syria and wanted to go home. And would need 1,300. I called him out on that and this person finally told me the truth. That he wasn’t Josh. I also came across Josh’s obituary. I’ve never been so heartbroken in my life. The tears I can not control for what I felt. There are three more profile accounts with Josh’s photos _sean.young099. lucas_young_

I fell hard for his story needing to get home to his son and start a life with me. I didn’t know about these type of scams. I sent him 700 to reach a friend to help him get vacation leave. I’m just coming across the pictures and true stories of Joshua M Young. I sobbed when I discovered the man I fell in love with was a scammer and worse that he had used Joshua’s pictures to manipulate me. I’m so overwhelmed with grief that Joshua took his own life from PTSD, in which the scammers are now using that piece of information in their dialogue. To Joshua, your true story and the man of true honor , I will love you and pray for your family. I’m so ashamed I fell for their lies … may you RIP beware of Merrick Barton new alias
