He is on POF with the user name hillcountryjohn, going by the name Arnold. Age listed as 44 but claims it was an error when creating his profile and he is 39. The conversation seemed off and he sounded like he was from another country so I asked if he was born and raised in LA where is profile listed him from. He said yes so I did a reverae image search and found this blog and many other sites that say these pictures are being used by scammers. I love that there are people posting about scammers. Thank you. I did report his profile

Well now he Stephen Carter Porter stationed in Syria. He needs money for a lawyer to get custody of his son Bryan. His english was so bad made it pretty easy to figure him out. Be careful out there.
He is also on instagram as tobistevenporter. I reported it. I'm pretty sure they took it down.

He is using the name Harry,38 and is saying that he is stationed in cairo for the past 2 years yet the phone number he gave me on whatsapp has a nigeria country code. He said he was born in paris and moved to Phoenix Arizona. first he said he was a single father and then 5 minutes later said he has no kids and was never married. he also said he is currently in cairo which is only 670 miles away from where i am but tinder said he was 2500 miles away which is how far nigeria is lol. Anyways, i reported him to tinder and i hope someone finally catches this guy. In any case, ladies watch out !

And last week while stationed in Nigeria, he was shot and needed me to send money to him for his treatment and medication, or they was going to punish him. I say PUNISH the hell out of him for ruining the real Porters name. People like this make me sick. I'm a single mom and I told him I didn't have money to send a complete stranger and he told me to sell everything so he could pay his bills... Nope buddy you got busted and I wished there was something we all could do about idiots like this.

He sent pictures holding up my name and he loves ms so much and now asking if I will do anything for him if he needs funds......scammer!

He created a profile on OkCupid and called me to talk to Kik as a johnkport and in 5 days he asked me for an itunes gift card as he had lost his card on the patrol he wanted 2 $ 50 cards but I said that I do not do this without knowing him and that I wanted a video call, document forum and cell phone number and felt offended.

  • A $50 iTunes card they sell for $1000... $200 for every $10 credit. They can be 'loaded'.. money from stolen bank accounts added onto them.

    So everyone is really pushing for iTunes cards now. Lost his card on patrol... it's the insult to your intelligence I find offensive. You were so right to say what you did. They are just online beggars. To lazy to go out with a bowl.

        He's only attractive in pictures... he really isn't nice to any woman who thinks she has found him and contacts him... and yet he leaves himself wide open for his pictures to be stolen and videos used. Josh Porter is a nuisance and he helps scammers so much by giving them so much material.

        They hardly ever admit to being a scammer !! They are taught to keep it going until the end. Sometimes they will come out and say they are a poor African suffering from the economy and this is the only way to eat/live/get through school/stop being bullied by older scammers...
        but mainly they just keep saying it's them. Any words that come out of their mouths are lies.

        Thing is that these are many scammers using the pictures that are out there for them all to copy, paste and use.
        It's not one person to catch. It's a whole lot of people using him because he works... and women respond !

        It works by scammers.. usually from Africa, sometimes the Middle East sending you pictures and saying it is them. They lie to you constantly. No soldier has time to talk to any woman every day. They have a job to do and that job comes first.

        YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED. And no... yours isn't the real one and he has had his pictures stolen and used by others. Porter isn't contacting women, he isn't talking to anyone every day he has never met.. he does not need to.

        They are all widowers and the wives die from cancer or car crash. The US Army are NOT deployed in Africa on missions.... this is an invention so the money gets sent to Nigeria or Ghana. WhatsApp needs your phone number.. don't give it. Don't waste one minute of your time talking to African scammers... you have better things to do !! Porter is everywhere !!

      Ok I just found all the info cause I meet this guy recently on tinder porter johnson and then went to kik as porter b Johnson and he sent many pics since this last Saturday and now have seen most on this website after finding multiple fb pages under the name Johnson porter and said he was from cali,even sent a pic of two kids said they were his,so sad and too bad these people can't be in trouble for doing this

        The people behind these are African scammers. The sad thing is that they have no law in their countries that will do anything. In Africa this is accepted. They even see it as the women's fault for sending money.
        So it gets worse.... and the men whose pictures are used are victims too.
        It's evil.. but I am so pleased that you searched and found.

        There isn't a way to get him arrested for one very good reason... the Nigerian Police are not interested and are more likely to take a bribe than a pair of handcuffs. Nigerians think scamming is a way of life. The government is not interested... in fact they see it as the woman's fault if she sends money or goods.. and that is why there is so much of it... if you leave the name and address I will add it to the post.... that Nigerian may as well be on Google.. !!! Evil isn't it !

        Those numbers mean nothing. They use 'forwarding numbers', you can buy a number and phone from anywhere in the world and it will come up as the number they have bought. Overseas call centres use them to sell things on the phone.. so scammers love them.

And last week while stationed in Nigeria, he was shot and needed me to send money to him for his treatment and medication, or they was going to punish him. I say PUNISH the hell out of him for ruining the real Porters name. People like this make me sick. I'm a single mom and I told him I didn't have money to send a complete stranger and he told me to sell everything so he could pay his bills... Nope buddy you got busted and I wished there was something we all could do about idiots like this.

If you are on Facebook the first thing they do is go through your Friends List.. they gather information there, contact more victims and steal photos, especially of children to use in future scams.         This is the problem. These are African scammers. They don't get caught and it isn't 'whoever' there are hundreds of whoevers.
        Africa sees no wrong in scamming and they will not arrest and charge scammers. This is where the problem lies because it's a crime with no punishment at all.

        There are hundreds of people scattered across the USA being money mules for African scammers. Now, Africa won't do anything with it's scammers, but money laundering is a federal offence. They deserve to be reported.. Walmart should also blacklist those who collect fraud money.

      Kik/ Paul Porter/ I found out about him. He scammed my friend and she got back with western union just in time to cancel the transaction. Now that he knows we know what this is about, he's flooding her phone line with ongoing phone calls. We told the RCMP and they are not getting back to us with this. Sadly, authorities don't act on those in a diligent fashion. They have bigger cases than this. I offered the authorities to take over the KIk accounts while we kept the scammers engaged in conversation so they could catch them. Days later: nothing. So beware that ladies do not get support nor help with this kind of situation.

        Just block.. the reason they do nothing is that really they can't. There is so little to go on and what there is is usually in Africa where nobody has any jurisdiction.
        The sites we run are here because nobody gets any support in this situation.

        We urge people to report and when they do.. well, you know what happens. The best news here is the transaction was cancelled.

        So not BLOCK. If she doesn't need Kik.. get rid of it, if she uses it for friends there are plenty of other apps. Kik is for scammers as far as I can see.

        We are here because African scammers know this is the 'perfect crime' and their police are corrupt and disinterested. Africa likes it's scammers, can you imagine how much money goes into Nigeria and Ghana because of scammers... and they spend it.

        So.. we warn and we hopefully educate and we will get to the day when everyone will know and their phones will fall silent as they have nobody to talk to !!

        They hate being blocked.. they will try to get back.. just keep doing it. Be in control and don't let them back in.

        Be careful with the MOS and other questions. You are teaching them something they should know and so he will look it up and know for next time. You are educating him.
        Ask for the email address. It ends in mail.mil or army.mil only and they have to give it, anywhere and anytime and if they don't they are fake. (Don't tell them what it should be, just ask for it, gmail or yahoo is fake.).
        Scammers are learning all about pay grades and MOS because of being taught it..

        The email thing is something they can't argue with and have no answer for.

      He is now known on Facebook as Shawn Porter, we didn't far in conversation bc I immediately googled the name and pic and I found this page. Instantly blocked him and reported after calling him out on his fake Facebook profile, which he denied of course. I was in the military myself so this is such a shame.

        Josh Porter leaves his entire life open for scammers to steal and use. He believes it isn't his fault. It is women's fault for talking to scammers and they are to blame for making it worse.
        He won't hide or close anything as he likes 'followers' .

        Until Josh Porter.. Sir Jumps a Lot stops feeding scammers. It will only get worse. I've never known anyone give them so much help. Then be so rude and insulting when anyone contacts him. We try not to get victims to contact... he upsets a lot of people with his rudeness and crudeness.

      Recently fell victim to this scum. As Nelson Porter on Instagram, Hangouts(has my email) and Viber(has my phone number) . I got suspicious, so I blocked him. Then, he found me on FB. No profile found under the Nelson Porter name, just set up a messenger account. He wanted $200 to fix his phone. I blocked him on FB too. I am not sure what else to do. Any advice greatly appreciated. I can NOT believe I fell for this BS. I feel like a total idiot and fool.

        Often taking a cut for it. Sometimes just thinking they are doing them a favour, or getting something from them. Either way, they should have more sense.

      A person befriended me on Words With Friends app and Hangouts as Johnson Porter. His apparently stationed in South Korea. I searched the pic and name and came up on the Scammers page. I confronted and called him a scammer and I was going to report him. I blocked him but he had my email. He said his the real person . He sent more pics and surprise I’d already seen them on the scam page. His coming to Australia to prove his the real thing! That will be the day. I said then it will be my lose if his the real thing.

        Josh Porter is the real man. He is living and working in America with a woman he is settled with.
        I'm surprised you said 'were' going to report him. Please do and don't leave him there to scam others. Who, like you, may believe the scammer is real.
        There are literally thousands of pictures and videos from Josh Porter, Sir Jumps Alot on Instagram that he leaves for scammers to steal.
        Please.. don't let any scammer talk for longer than when you know.

      Well I came across David Hutchison Porter aka Josh Porter aka David Porter Willian I could go on but you already know. I met whoever he is on In Message he said he was in the Army and in Merino Colorado, a couple of days after we started talking he said he was going to be deploying to Nigeria on a peace keeping mission. Well I am a mother of 2 actual Marines and one of my sons really deployed to Iraq. He is back now and all in one piece thankfully. I makes me sick that this guy is playing make believe being someone he isn't and using someone who is serving in our military as well. I think that people like him should be put on an island somewhere and never be allowed off of it. How dare his portray himself as someone who is in the Army actively serving our country when he isn't that at all. I think he should be put in jail and if anyone knows where I can find this guy I will do whatever I have to do to make sure that it happens. He doesn't deserve to even wear the uniform. What a dirtbag

        It isn't actually Josh that is scamming.
        These are African scammers who steal pictures to use to pretend to be them. You are the mother of military and so am I. It don't like the way the actual Porter leaves all his material open for scammers to use. Whether he agrees with scamming or not it exists.
        They don't go to jail. Africa isn't interested in stopping it's scammers. It brings money into the country and to them, using the stolen identity of anyone isn't a crime. Getting money through banking etc is.. but a woman sending money to a liar is not theft to them.
        We have to warn women and encourage everyone to stop and think and check. STOP, CHECK AND MAKE SURE !! SCAMS !

        Everyone working together we can save a lot. Some who seem to enjoy the notoriety doesn't help us. If I was a serviceman I would be disgusted at being used and not blame everyone else for it. However Porter will always be used. He gives the scammers so many hundreds of pictures and videos from his page.. all free to steal and use.
        So.. we keep fighting for the servicemen who deserve us fighting for them and for the women who become victims of this evil crime.

      He is on POF with the user name hillcountryjohn, going by the name Arnold. Age listed as 44 but claims it was an error when creating his profile and he is 39. The conversation seemed off and he sounded like he was from another country so I asked if he was born and raised in LA where is profile listed him from. He said yes so I did a reverae image search and found this blog and many other sites that say these pictures are being used by scammers. I love that there are people posting about scammers. Thank you. I did report his profile
