MILITARY ROMANCE SCAMS: THE FAKE COMMANDER, DOCTOR & MILITARY PERSONNEL

Have you ever wondered why a romance scammer introduces a supposed military commander, doctor, commanding officer, or another military official into the conversation?

It’s another layer of the deception!

Scammers use these fake characters for several reasons:

1. TO MAKE THE STORY BELIEVABLE

They pretend these officials can confirm the soldier’s identity, military assignment, or personal circumstances.

2. TO CREATE FALSE AUTHORITY

A fake commander or superior officer may claim that leave, travel, or homecoming arrangements require special permission or payment.

3. TO DEMAND MONEY

The supposed official may request money for leave papers, clearance, travel arrangements, medical emergencies, communication access, or other fabricated expenses.

4. TO REINFORCE THE LIE

When someone other than the romantic partner repeats the same story, the victim may believe it has been independently verified.

5. TO BUILD TRUST AND CONTROL

The scammer uses these additional characters to make the victim feel that an entire military organization is involved in helping their loved one.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND:

These people may not exist at all. They could be additional fake profiles operated by the same scammer or accomplices working together.

The military does NOT require romantic partners to pay for a service member’s leave, homecoming, permission to communicate, or release from military duties.

A uniform, military title, official-sounding email, document, or convincing conversation does not prove someone’s identity.

STOP. THINK. VERIFY.

Never send money to someone claiming to be a military official on behalf of an online romantic partner.

Don’t let an entire cast of fake characters convince you that a fictional relationship is real.

🚨 WARNING: SCAMHATERS UNITED IS BEING IMPERSONATED! 🚨

💔 ROMANCE SCAM VICTIMS: PLEASE READ!

Losing money to a romance scam is devastating. Sadly, scammers may target victims again by pretending they can recover the money that was lost.

⚠️ We have received screenshots of a Facebook account using the name Scam Haters United that is offering a supposed recovery service requiring the purchase of software for $250 before the recovery process can proceed.

❌ THIS IS A MAJOR RED FLAG!

Recovery scammers may:
🔴 Promise to recover your stolen money.
🔴 Demand upfront payments for software, licenses, or case registration.
🔴 Use the name of a trusted organization to gain your confidence.
🔴 Ask for additional payments, potentially causing even more financial loss.

🛑 PLEASE REMEMBER:
• ScamHaters United does not endorse this recovery offer.
• Do not pay for unverified recovery software.
• Never share your banking details, passwords, cryptocurrency wallet credentials, or verification codes.
• Report suspicious impersonation accounts to the platform.
• Be cautious of anyone guaranteeing that they can recover your money.

❤️ YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN HURT. YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE SCAMMED AGAIN.

If you have lost money to a romance scam, contact your bank or payment provider promptly and report the fraud to the appropriate authorities.

🚨 WHY DO ROMANCE SCAMMERS WANT YOUR BANK OR CARD DETAILS? 🚨

❤️ They say they love you. They claim they trust you. But why do they need access to your money?

💳 YOUR BANK ACCOUNT

They may want to move stolen money through your account, use it to receive fraudulent payments, or trick you into becoming a money mule. You could face serious financial and legal consequences.

💳 YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD

They may use your card details to make unauthorized purchases, withdraw money where possible, or make other fraudulent transactions.

🔐 YOUR ONLINE BANKING DETAILS

Your username, password, security codes, or one-time verification codes could help them access your accounts, steal money, or take control of them.

🎭 THE EXCUSES CAN SOUND CONVINCING

They may claim they need your help because:

• Their account is frozen.

• They cannot access their money overseas.

• They need you to pay an emergency expense.

• They want to send you money or a gift.

• They need your account to receive a payment.

These stories are designed to exploit your trust and generosity.

⚠️ LOVE DOES NOT REQUIRE YOUR BANK DETAILS!

Never share your banking passwords, PINs, card security codes, or one-time verification codes with someone you met online. Never let a romantic contact use your account to move money.

If someone pressures you for financial information, STOP. VERIFY. PROTECT YOURSELF.

Already shared your details? Contact your bank immediately using its official phone number, secure app, or website. Ask about securing your accounts and blocking unauthorized transactions.

❤️ Real love does not put your money, identity, or financial future at risk.

📢 Share this warning. It could protect someone you love.

🎄❤️ COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS… OR ANOTHER ROMANCE SCAM? ❤️🎄

As the holidays approach, romance scammers know exactly how to use the magic of Christmas to manipulate emotions and steal money.

🎁 Why do they use this story?

❤️ HOPE: They promise to finally come home so you can spend Christmas together.

🏠 FAMILY: They talk about being reunited, building a future, and sharing the holidays with you.

⏰ URGENCY: Suddenly, there’s a problem with a ticket, passport, visa, work contract, or unexpected travel expense.

💸 MONEY: They claim they need your help to get home, promising this will be the last payment.

💔 DISAPPOINTMENT: Christmas gets closer, excuses multiply, and the promised reunion never happens.

🎭 Remember: The story may sound romantic, but the goal may be to exploit your love, kindness, and hope.

🚩 RED FLAGS TO WATCH FOR:

• They ask you to pay for their travel or release from an alleged emergency.

• A new crisis appears every time they are supposed to leave.

• They promise to repay you or insist this is the final payment.

• They avoid independently verifiable proof of who they really are.

🎄 YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOULD NOT COME WITH A PRICE TAG.

Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or banking details to someone you have not independently verified.

A genuine relationship should never require you to pay for someone’s promised return home.

❤️ Know the signs. Share the warning. Help protect someone this holiday season.

Meet Andreas, a German content creator who shares travel and lifestyle content and has worked in aviation and architecture.

Sadly, scammers continue to steal his photographs and use them to create fake profiles.

🌲 ROMANCE SCAMS: THE LOGGER SCRIPT 🪵

Why do romance scammers pretend to work in the logging business?

A logger or timber-business owner can be a believable character in a romance scam. The occupation gives scammers a convenient way to explain distance, work problems, and financial emergencies.

🚩 HERE’S HOW THE SCRIPT MAY WORK:

🌲 WORKING FAR AWAY

They claim to be at a remote logging site, making it difficult to meet in person.

🚜 EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT

They invent problems with machinery, trucks, or equipment that supposedly need urgent repairs.

🪵 DELAYED PAYMENTS

They claim a timber shipment or business contract has left their money tied up.

💔 PROMISES OF A FUTURE

They promise to finish a contract, come home, and finally begin the life they’ve planned with you.

💰 THE FINANCIAL EMERGENCY

Eventually, the story may lead to a request for money, cryptocurrency, or gift cards.

WHY DOES IT WORK?

The scammer builds a believable backstory, gains trust, creates emotional attachment, and then uses a supposed crisis to make the victim feel responsible for helping.

⚠️ REMEMBER:

Being a logger is NOT a red flag by itself. The warning signs are the excuses, the unverified identity, the repeated emergencies, and requests for money from someone you’ve never met.

❤️ LOVE SHOULD NEVER REQUIRE YOU TO FINANCE A STRANGER’S EMERGENCIES.

Stop. Think. Verify.
