Here are the Top 5 things to look for when navigating the online real estate landscape:

1. Verify the Source: Always double-check the account's legitimacy. Scammers often use generic usernames and unprofessional profiles.

2. Reverse Image Search: If you're suspicious about a photo, use a reverse image search to see if it's being used elsewhere.

3. Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off or too good to be true, it probably is. Don't rush into decisions.

4. Money Matters: Be cautious if asked for payment or personal information early in the process. Legitimate agents follow proper procedures.

5. Direct Contact: Reach out via official channels like verified websites or social media profiles to confirm identities. I don’t have a “backup account”!"

Goes under the name James Tyler Thomas.

On Google chat as James Thomas along with his dad Mike Thomas, brother Dave Bull, sister Katie Blaze and aunts Kimberly Buck and Stacey Turner.

I’ve been talking to “James” for 9 months now.

Him and his family have gotten a lot of money over that period of time for various things they wanted/needed; sending to his Bitcoin address which all of the family uses. “James” claims he’s from Wewoka, OK, that his wife died in a car accident and that he has two daughters, Clara and Becca.

Clara turned 8 on November 26th and Becca turned 5 on December 10th and he turned 34 on January 2nd.

He claims to be in the Marines currently deployed to Chad for over a year now.

His dad, Mike has cancer and is going to die soon. Not sure of the mom’s name, she always uses the brother’s chat.

Eventually I had given “James” access to my checking account where he would try depositing money in and then wanting me to send money out right away and then the deposit would come back returned.

Then to supposedly help me, he worked with a friend to get a check sent to me to deposit. The check looked legit and again once the check made it in the account was told to send money out.

This check then turned out to be fraudulent. “James” text messaged me using 530-417-8304 after I blocked him and his family after this happened.

I had also got a text from one of the parents using 336-567-3294. On WhatsApp under James Thomas using 659-346-5522.

When we’ve tried FaceTiming on WhatsApp it’s the same as said in other comments. They just seem like video clips and you don’t actually get to talk to them and it only last a few seconds before cutting out for “bad reception”.

He originally used ‪708-986‑1721‬ on WhatsApp.

Claims to love me and wants to marry me and can’t wait to see me. That he’s going to get stationed here after he gets stateside and move here to be with me.

This guy contacted me as Ethan James Cole. Email ez10military@gmail.com and he has a facebook page. i knew something was off and so i reported him. Met him on bumble claiming he was looking for a girlfriend. Said he had a ranch in AZ as well. Story seems to add up. We tried to video chat, where he played a looped video of the guy in the photos. I blocked him from everything after that, just knowing there was something off.
