4) Does it have family? Friends? Anyone commenting
5) If one of your friends is a mutual friend… DO YOU KNOW THIS PERSON?

Di you give out your phone number or email address.... then they have a way of contacting you when the scam ends.
Every night there will be some impossible romance (easily found online they have copied).. maybe some flowers pics and 'Goodnight babe'.... (then they can quickly send to all their women without getting the name wrong)
In the morning the same, impossible love words, completely wrong for someone not long met and then only online.
When is your birthday honey? Along with your age, there is your date of birth.
VIDEO CHAT... they cant'! Camera broken, against security or safety...
ALWAYS A REASON.... YOU WILL NEVER GET A GOOD LONG, FACE TO FACE CONVERSATION ON VIDEO WHICH LASTS A LONG TIME.

The days go on.... and they are now in LOVE....
They very often say..
from (for example) from Germany
and live in (for example) Texas.. Why is this?
They believe it covers thier
accent' if they voice call. Some even say they picked up an African accent working there.
Be honest in what you are hearing.... don't accept everything your stranger tells you.
On an oil rig.. yet can text or talk for hours.
in a War Zone or Base... yet can text or talk for hours.
NOT ALL SCAMMERS HAVE BAD ENGLISH. They do often say 'am' too often but many send good English.

If it refuses a video call.. a nice, long, chatty, video call…. THEN GOOGLE.
Just looking up ‘military man contacting me’... or ‘oil rig man contacting ‘ will bring up a lot of results.
Come to a page like ours.. we will look for you and do a good image search.

NEVER ASSUME WHEN YOU ARE TALKING TO A STRANGER…. The danger is very real.

It is quick but you are so much in love... he says.. 'don't tell anyone about us honey, they will want to spoil our happiness'

You get asked for money once
your scammer feels you will pay. The length of time for this will vary.
You are now often called,
'Wife' .. you may get emails from the Military or UN to register as Fiancee! This often asks for copy of passport, ID, SSN (If USA). Of course you PAY to register.
If he is an Engineer, then emails will come as 'wife' and he will ask you to apply for 'Leave' .. this is used in ALL scams.
You can plan for your wedding when they get home. He/ She says you will get all your money back!
Emails from his 'Commander or boss' let you apply for 'Emergency Leave' .. for a price.
It may need a replacement to
be paid for. The serious money is now asked for.

This 'romance' with a stranger is FAKE. It is to steal money.. ONLY
Some way to ask for money?
Says has no access to money.. LIES
Military: Food, Medical bills, lost a weapon, lost ID, phone or wallet.
Kids need gift cards. Phones/laptops for school.
Fiancee Register, Leave, Flights.
Arrested/kidnapped.
Others: says has no access to money, even Oil Rig/Doctor LIES
Lost phone, medical bills, flights, leave, Gift cards for data.
TRUTH: NO REAL PERSON NEEDS MONEY FOR ANY REASON

By now the 'relationship' is
going strong....
You will most certainly be wife/husband. Plans for the future are talked of.
You may have emails or message from the 'child'.. calling you Mom/Mum
He needs your bank account or you to make one and you accept money. He may argue if you don't give it to him... 'babe don't you love me' ?
Maybe you get gifts... a ring, a pizza, flowers... they will do this to get your trust
You may get a fake Military /Doctor or Engineer ID and/or passport.
