He is not looking for a relationship. He will not contact anyone and he will not ask for money of any kind. They are using his children. They are not talking to you.

All of his accounts are verified. He wil also understandably frustrated.

 Many romance scam victims are targeted a second time by people claiming they can help recover money or identify other victims.

Legitimate cyber investigators do exist. They may work for:

* Law enforcement agencies

* Government cybercrime units

* Banks and financial institutions

* Digital forensics companies

* Licensed private investigators with cyber expertise

* Cybersecurity firms

Their job is to analyze digital evidence, trace online activity, investigate fraud networks, preserve evidence, and assist with criminal or civil cases.

What about “cyber engineering programs” that claim to find other victims?

Be very cautious.

Many websites, social media accounts, and self-proclaimed “cyber investigators” claim they can:

* Track a scammer’s exact location

* Hack the scammer’s device

* Recover stolen money

* Identify all of the scammer’s other victims

* Access bank accounts or cryptocurrency wallets

* Use secret software to expose the scammer

In reality, these claims are often exaggerated or completely false.

Signs it may be a recovery scam

Many romance scam victims encounter “recovery agents” who claim:

* “We found your scammer.”

* “We can recover your money.”

* “We have identified hundreds of victims.”

* “Pay a fee to unlock the report.”

* “Pay for tracing software.”

* “Pay taxes or insurance before funds are released.”

These are frequently scams targeting people who have already been victimized.

Can investigators identify other victims?

Sometimes, yes—but usually only under limited circumstances.

Law enforcement or major fraud investigators may:

* Seize scammer devices

* Analyze victim lists found on computers

* Review financial records

* Examine chat logs and email accounts obtained through legal processes

However, an ordinary private investigator generally cannot magically identify every victim of a scammer.

A good rule for SHU members

If someone claims they can:

* Recover money with a guarantee,

* Hack a scammer,

* Access private accounts,

* Reveal all victims through special software,

* Or demands upfront fees,

treat that as a major warning sign.

Legitimate investigators usually explain:

* What they can and cannot do,

* What evidence they need,

* The limits of their investigation,

* And they do not guarantee results.

One of the most common secondary scams is the recovery scam—where fraudsters pose as cyber investigators, hackers, government agents, or fund recovery specialists and target people who have already lost money in a romance scam.

“No legitimate investigator can guarantee the recovery of your money or magically identify every victim of a scammer. Be especially cautious of anyone who contacts you unexpectedly claiming they can recover funds or expose the scammer for a fee.”

The military do not have to pay for replacement weapons. Look in the mirror and ask yourself that same exact question.

The military will not show you their passport or CAC ID to prove they are real. They do not need money to pay for leave.

Watch out for fake accounts of Rob. He tells how they change the name or user ID to create the fakes. Rob is not on any dating sites at all.
