Teenagers can’t be just banned from the internet under a certain age, they NEED EDUCATION ABOUT THE DANGERS OF THE INTERNET.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰Teenagers can’t be just banned from the internet under a certain age, they NEED EDUCATION ABOUT THE DANGERS OF THE INTERNET. In the UK and other places wen hear teens should be blocked from social media.

We get teens from places like Snapchat. They think they are talking to someone the same age and send pictures. Immediately it all changes and threats, money demanded and most don't know how to handle it.

IT IS ONE THING FOR ADULTS IN GOVERNMENTS TO SAY ban ... BUT TEENS NEED TO KNOW THE DANGERS.

SUICIDE IS MURDER... sorry but it is. The blackmailer pushes the victim to take their own lives ! They don't care. Usually they are across the world, literally playing ! THEY JUST WANT MONEY.

✝️There have been numerous documented cases of young people dying by suicide following sextortion scams, with teen boys being the most commonly reported victims. According to reports from law enforcement and cybersecurity experts, these incidents have surged in recent years, often involving international criminal networks targeting minors on social media platforms like Instagram.
Statistics from various sources indicate:At least 38 teenage boys in the US alone have died by suicide due to sextortion since 2021, as reported by cybercrime investigators.

๐Ÿ‘ฎThe FBI has linked financially motivated sextortion to at least 20 suicides among minors between October 2021 and March 2023, with over 13,000 reports during that period and a 20% increase in cases shortly after.

๐Ÿ‘ถThe National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates at least 36 teen boys have taken their lives after falling victim to these schemes.

๐ŸŒŽGlobally, sextortion has been connected to rising suicide rates among teens, with US cases more than doubling to 26,700 in one year, including at least 27 boys who died by suicide in the past two years.

๐Ÿ’”Specific examples include:
Jordan DeMay, a 17-year-old from Michigan, who died by suicide in March 2022 after being extorted by Nigerian scammers on Instagram.

Ryan Last, a 17-year-old from California, who took his own life in February 2022 within hours of being targeted in a similar scam.

Elijah Heacock, a teen from Texas, who died by suicide in 2025 after receiving AI-generated nude images in a blackmail attempt.

International cases, such as Murray Dowey (16, Scotland) and Rohan Cosgriff (17, Australia), highlight the global nature of the issue.

SAD STATISTICS THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

๐Ÿ‘ฎAuthorities like the FBI emphasize that these scams often originate from West Africa or Southeast Asia, and they urge parents to discuss online safety with their children to prevent such tragedies.

In the UK: Call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7) or PAPYRUS (prevention of young suicide) on 0800 068 41 41.
